Inmate Mail

Each state and province publishes the required format for addressing mail to inmates in correctional facilities. The standard format for the "recipient" line is:

Inmate Name and Booking Number
Correctional Facility Name
Correctional Address or PO Box
City, State/Province PostalCode

To ensure that mailing labels for inmates are formatted correctly, enter the Booking Number in the "Suffix" field, beginning with "#". For example:

This also makes it easy to identify inmates in Person Search results:

To find inmates, use Advanced Search to search for "Suffix" beginning with "#".
